Cyanotype Workshop with Jane Price
Saturday May 13th 2013 10-4pm £45
Participants in the workshop will use the daylight to make blue cyanotype images on paper or cloth. (If sunshine fails I have an ultra violet light box) Cyanotype images are made laying flowers, plants, roots, sticks, leaves, small stones and so on to the light sensitive surface of paper or cloth for 15 minutes, exposing to UV light and washing out in water. The artwork can then be dried with a hair dryer.
Skills to learn are in composition, varying the scale, positioning of objects and exploring degrees of transparency with the penetration of light through objects. The quality of brushstrokes when applying the solution to a support surface and the edges of prints make a difference to the beauty of the results!
