Curious Creators Club: Explore Oil Painting
Discover the wonderful richness of oil painting in this relaxed and exploratory three-week course. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to loosen up their painting style, these sessions will focus on colour, texture, expressive mark-making and palette knife techniques.
We’ll experiment with mixing and layering colour, scraping and building texture, and gradually develop semi-abstract paintings inspired by landscapes, coastlines, florals and other imagery.
The emphasis is on exploration rather than perfection – learning what oil paint can do, developing confidence and finding your own expressive style.
We’ll also explore a solvent-free approach to oil painting, avoiding traditional turpentine and white spirit wherever possible.

This course is part of a series of mini courses, however, don’t be put off – the courses are suitable to join at any stage and for any level.
I have plenty of materials but you also may like to start collecting things yourself to bring such as oil paints, oil painting paper or small primed boards, markers, oil pastels, collage materials etc.
Homemade biscuits, fresh coffees, hot chocolate and teas provided.
